Summary

Patient John Freeman met up with some of the team at South Central Ambulance Service who saved his life when he had a cardiac arrest in June 2021.

John Freeman, his wife Yvonne and two daughters, Sabrina and Natalie, visited South Central Ambulance Service’s High Wycombe Resource Centre earlier this week to meet up with some of the team who saved John’s life when he had a cardiac arrest in June 2021.

Julia Cole, Charlie Bee and Luke Mortimer were delighted to see the Freeman family again in much happier circumstances.

Yvonne said: “The SCAS ambulance team, along with Thames Valley Air Ambulance, worked tirelessly to restart John’s heart after his cardiac arrest and kept him stable enough for the journey to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

“We understand his ‘downtime’ was 50 minutes so we are absolutely amazed by his recovery. He had a staged return to work in 2022 and was able to return full-time in August, following a family holiday in Florida.

“It was absolutely wonderful to meet up again with Julia, Charlie and Luke – they are amazing superheroes.”
