South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) is looking to recruit two new non-executive directors to join the trust’s board.
Non-executive directors (or NEDs) make a full contribution to the board’s debates and discussions, bringing independence, external perspectives, skill and challenge to the strategic development of the organisation.
Professor Sir Keith Willett, chair at SCAS said: “We are looking to appoint two NEDs who will bring significant board level leadership experience from similar complex, highly regulated public facing organisations. We would like to hear from individuals with board level skills in organisational development, transformation and culture change, communications and engagement, as well as those with strategic clinical experience particularly around primary care, community services or the emergency care pathway.”
SCAS provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire. The trust employs over 4,700 staff who are also supported by 900 volunteers delivering emergency 999, NHS 111 and patient transport services.
The trust is keen to attract candidates who can bring diverse perspectives and welcomes expressions of interest from the widest possible range of backgrounds, particularly those who are under-represented at board level in the NHS.
The salary for the roles is £13,000 per annum with the postholder expected to work for four days a month on average, with travel expected across the South Central region. The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday, 31 January.
