SCAS Joins Paulsgrove Health Fair

Jan 27, 2025 | Events-past, Members e-Bulletin

On 20 January, SCAS joined 29 other local organisations at the Paulsgrove Health Fair, held at the Paulsgrove Community Centre. The event was organised by Portsmouth University Hospitals in collaboration with Portsmouth Council.

SCAS team members James Charman, Clinical Team Educator, Jodie Driscoll, Paramedic, and Lloyd Day, Paramedic and Staff Governor,  volunteered their time to represent the service at the fair. They spent the day showing members of the public around an ambulance parked on-site and delivering CPR and defibrillator demonstrations. The ambulance proved especially popular with children from the school across the road, who were eager to explore and learn.

The event provided SCAS staff with an invaluable opportunity to connect with local residents, share important winter health messages, and gather feedback on our services. Some attendees who had experienced significant delays expressed appreciation for the explanations of the triage process, which helped foster greater understanding and trust.

This event highlights the importance of local engagement in building stronger relationships with the community and ensuring that SCAS continues to deliver compassionate and effective care.

A big thank you to  James, Jodie and Lloyd, for giving their time to attend the event. If you are interested in joining events this summer, please email membership@scas.nhs.uk
