We are delighted to announce that Mark Ainsworth and Stuart Rees have been substantively appointed to the roles of Executive Director of Operations and Chief Finance Officer respectively.
Following a national search, there was a strong field of candidates for both roles. The recruitment process involved psychometric testing, stakeholder panels and a formal interview.
Both Mark and Stuart showed their passion and commitment to the trust and for continuing with the work we have started to improve quality, safety, operational performance and financial sustainability.
Mark has been with SCAS since it was formed, and having started as a paramedic he has for many years led the day-to-day operations of the Trust. Mark’s clinical and operational understanding of the way the Trust works for patients and staff is vitally important as part of his role in the executive team.
Stuart joined us in July 2023, having built a career in NHS Finance spanning nearly 30 years. He has been instrumental in overseeing our ongoing financial recovery and his experience in the wider NHS across commissioning and community roles adds important depth of understanding as part of the executive team.
The year ahead will bring both opportunities and challenges for the trust. Together with the rest of the executive team and the Board, Mark and Stuart will play a key role in setting the direction in their functions and for the whole organisation. I’m pleased that we retain their experience and understanding of our local circumstances. Congratulations to Mark and Stuart.
