Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.
We’ve spoken to just a few of our staff members to hear about their personal experiences.
Saricka
Saricka is the Learning Disability Specialist for SCAS. She works to improve our services for our Neurodivergent patients by providing alternate ways of communication and running awareness campaigns. She also helps staff and managers with reasonable adjustments. You can find more on these communication booklets here: https://www.scas.nhs.uk/about-scas/accessible-information/

Charlie
Charlie is one of our Clinical Operations Manager, and also the Deputy Chair of our staff disability network DARE. This stands for the Disability Awareness, Representation and Equality staff network and anyone is free to join for advice and community within the organisation. You can find out more information about this here: https://www.scas.nhs.uk/about-scas/equality-and-diversity/

This is Liza-Anne, who is one of our 111 health advisors, and also the Treasurer of our staff disability network DARE.

Sarah
Sarah is one of our Non-Clinical Auditors for our emergency call centres, and also the Chair of our staff disability network DARE.
