SCAS joined Thames Valley Police (TVP) at the Spiceball Park in Banbury, on 7 September at an emergency services day with Fire and Search and Rescue and Banbury Town Council.
The event aimed to raise awareness, promote responsible use of emergency services, and share basic lifesaving skills with the community. Visitors and residents met representatives from Police, Fire, Search and Rescue and SCAS, to learn about the services and get an up-close look at vehicles and equipment.
Barbara Sullivan, Paramedic, and Keshia Harrison, Recruitment Advisor, coordinated SCAS attendance at the event. Keshia said:
“We really enjoyed meeting the local community alongside our colleagues from other emergency services. There was a demonstration of a road traffic collision (RTC) which featured the highways agency, TVP, Fire and Rescue and SCAS. This focused on the individual teams coming together as one to help those involved in the incident. It was a really interesting opportunity to learn about how services work together.”
Keshia shared recruitment information with the public and both Barbara and Keshia, alongside the frontline team got positive feedback about SCAS.
