Huw Pateman, Public Governor, Buckinghamshire, attended a Blue Light Day in Milton Keynes on 25 August.
Milton Keynes emergency services hub opened its doors to the public with a huge range of demonstrations and emergency vehicles on display. Local residents were invited to the free event, to watch demonstrations, soak a firefighter, play football, enjoy a barbeque and take part in a raffle. The open day raised money for the Firefighter Charity, Thames Valley Police and SCAS Charity.
Emma Hildrew, Clinical Team Educator, SCAS organised logistics for SCAS at the open day. Huw Pateman said: “It was thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile and very well organised”
The Blue Light Hub first opened back in 2020, during the pandemic, and merged some of Milton Keynes’ existing fire stations to create a centre for emergency services.
