On 3 December, Andy Long and Andy McEwan, community first responders, attended a community larder at Barton Community Centre, which remained open despite flooding of their resource centre in Didcot the previous week. Andy and Andy gave CPR demonstrations and talked to people about how to stay safe over the winter.
Tanya Field, Community Development Coordinator, said:
“It was really good day for everyone involved.”
Barton Community Centre is in an area of high demand and deprivation, and therefore engagement can support SCAS to educate and empower local people on how to access emergency services and get feedback on equity of access to services to reduce health inequalities.
